Lake Tahoe has far better casinos than Reno.

If with a car, I would stay away from downtown region. If with out a car, Silver Legacy for us.

And we too decide on Tahoe over Reno.

I’ve stayed at El Dorado. I say Silver Legacy or Harrahs in case you need to be on Virginia Street. If it is not important then in order:

Grand Sierra

We like the Peppermill but it is a few miles far from downtown.

If I was staying on Virgina street then I ditto Suzie’s suggestions.

My husband and I stayed at the new Tuscan Tower at the Peppermill last month and without a doubt concept it became exceptional. The rooms are fantastic, the pools beautiful and The Steak Restaurant specifically incredible. We simply plan a return go to. If you do determine to stay there and if you stay in the Tuscan Tower make certain you request a view dealing with the pool.
We actually did now not sense that we have been in Reno and did now not sense the need to go away the hotel.
P.S. They do have some exceptional mid-week specials.

we stayed at El Dorado multiple years ago..It turned into quality however the Silver Legacy next door, appeared nicer.
El Dorado is it nevertheless owned with the aid of Ferrari-Carano vineyard?
We had a cute french meal at the casino with a exquisite malbec.
Reno is not any Vegas and after 2 days, you might need to move as much as Tahoe..Only for the sheer splendor of all of it.

We stayed in a single day at Harrah’s in downtown Reno a few weeks ago. They have a pleasing new tower with spacious rooms, exquisite beds, flat screen TV’s, plenty of restaurants and loose slots. Our room had a view of the River and can also see the fireworks from the brand new baseball stadium after the game. They have a special sidewalk to Virginia Street and the other casinos.

I think it changed into the West Tower, the Lake Tahoe side, on a high ground. The actual building might not be brand new, but the decor was.

Reno is about 40 miles from Lake Tahoe. Thus I doubt you noticed Lake Tahoe from the West Tower in downtown Reno.

No in which did I say I noticed Lake Tahoe from Harrah’s in Reno. We simply got here from a week on the Hyatt in Incline Village. I stated we noticed the Truckee River and noticed the fireworks after the base ball recreation from our room in Reno. There are two towers, the only referred to as the west tower is in the direction of Tahoe, the east towers across the road (but connected by a bridge) are closer to the Aces Baseball Stadium, but the building faces it sideways.

Peppermill is the region to stay in Reno. The tower rooms are very fine and clean, with comfy bed. Each room has a massive LCD TV. Unlike Silver Legacy, Harrah’s, and El Dorado, Peppermill has 2 modern swimming pools
